Including sustainability concerns in IT decisions At Spektra Analytics, we take pride in being at the forefront of sustainability initiatives within the IT industry. We help clients baseline their IT carbon emissions and advise clients on which sustainability requirements to include in IT contracts and tenders. Our goal is to provide clients with the ability to make informed decisions while pushing the green agenda for vendors by setting ambitious yet reachable requirements. Ultimately, we hope to influence clients and vendors to reduce their carbon footprints and foster a more sustainable future for the planet.
On July 31st, 2023, the European Commission formally adopted the Environmental and Social Responsibility Standards (ESRS) entering effect for the first organisations on January 1, 2024. These require all larger organisations (and organisations listed by the European Commission) to report on what risks and opportunities they see arising from social and environmental issues and disclose information on the impact of their activities on people and the environment. As IT plays an increasingly important role and occupies a larger footprint in most organisations, being primed for the ESRS is a necessity for all IT departments. At Spektra Analytics we recognize the urgency to navigate the ESRS reporting landscape. With this in mind, we assist client in baselining all emissions related to IT and guide clients on how to set the right vendor requirements.
Including ESG requirements in IT tenders and contracts is essential to track and limit emissions and to ensure company policy compliance. While we acknowledge the importance of setting ambitious targets for a greener future, we also recognize the practical constraints that some vendors may face. Our inputs for IT vendor requirements are carefully crafted to challenge vendors to improve their sustainability performance without excluding relevant vendors or making unattainable demands. Baselining IT CO2 emissions
Our customized baselining services enable companies to precisely compute their CO2 emissions arising from IT infrastructure, Full-Time Equivalents (FTEs), and software usage. Sustainable vendor requirements Our approach to sustainability requirements is based on more than 10 years of experience with IT outsourcing and insights gained from years of collaboration with various vendors. Ongoing reporting on sustainability
We provide clients with the ability to charge back carbon emissions to each business application. This can be tracked in a dashboard , allowing clients to continuously track IT carbon emissions
.
Enabling CO2 showback and green decision making is key to help drive behavior The past few years, more and more organizations have started to track carbon emissions and include green requirements in IT tenders and IT vendor contracts. The new ESRS are important because they accelerate and force transparency on IT carbon emissions. Everyone seams to be committed to reduce their carbon footprint but time is key to quickly overcoming data restrictions on carbon emission showback to IT consumers.
